WHY WE PERFORM FULL-LENGTH BALLET

We strive to elevate the community’s cultural landscape by preserving the integrity of classical ballet and presenting it with the highest artistic standards. Performing a full-length ballet offers a unique and invaluable experience that goes far beyond regular classwork or short pieces. Through each performance, dancers experience artistic and technical growth, storytelling and theatrical experience, professional preparation, teamwork, discipline, personal achievement, confidence, and connection to ballet tradition.

THE 2025-2026 SEASON

Our season begins with the beloved Christmas story of The Nutcracker on December 19 & 20, 2025 at Cedar City's Heritage Theater. This timeless holiday ballet follows a young girl named Clara, who receives a nutcracker doll as a gift. Her story unfolds into a magical adventure, featuring a fierce battle with the Mouse King and a wondrous journey to the enchanting Land of the Sweets.

Join CCJB on March 13 & 14, 2026 for Cinderella. The story of a kind-hearted young women who despite hardship and cruelty finds love and magical transformation. With the help of enchanted beings and a magical coach, Cinderella’s story is filled with humor, romance, and elegant choreography that traces from early versions in 1813 to Sergei Prokofiev’s 1945 version.

New to our repertoire, we are excited to announce Danse Macabre on October 23 & 24, 2026. A French term that translates to “dance of death” with art and culture origins dating back to medieval Europe, Danse Macabre is choreographed by CCJB’s own Lynnette Imlay and will host a cast of dancers from all communities and age. Join us for a hauntingly scary and humorous evening on the stage at Heritage Theater.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Our cast for all performances is not limited to students currently enrolled at CCJB, rather we invite the entire community to participate. We audition each year and find a place for anyone who wants to participate.

DOES IT COST?

The Nutcracker is free to participate. Each dancer receives 15 tickets to sell, with the proceeds returned to the company.

A participation fee of $300 applies to all other performances. Each dancer receives 15 tickets, which can be sold by the dancer to help offset up to half of the participation cost.
